School Road Safety Certificate (ASSR)

What is the difference between a school road safety certificate of 1er level (ASSR1) and level 2d level (ASSR2)? We'll tell you what you need to know.
Access to BSR practical training
The detention of the ASSR of 1er level (ASSR1) or ASR of 2d level (ASSR2) is required to access practical training in the BSR: titleContent.
SRAs may be replaced by the road safety certificate.

The BSR corresponds to driving license category AM. Any driver of moped or light motor quadricycle, born in 1988 or later, must have either a driving license or a BSR.
Obtaining a 1st driving license
Holding the ASSR2 is mandatory to obtain a 1re category of driving license (A permit, A2 , B or B1) if you are under 21 years of age.
ASSR2 may be replaced by the road safety certificate.
RSAs of 1er level (ASSR1) and level 2d level (ASSR2) are obtained in the framework of the compulsory education of road safety rules.
They are issued during school time after a theoretical knowledge check. The tests are taking place every year between the beginning of the 2nde term and end of the school year.
ASSR1
The ASSR1 event is held annually for the following students:
- Class of 5e or corresponding level
- Pupil of another class and reaching the age of 14 during the calendar year.
ASSR2
The ASSR2 event is held annually for the following students:
- Class of 3e or corresponding level
- Pupil of another class and reaching the age of 16 during the calendar year
- Pupil over 16 enrolled in a school.
The issue of a road safety certificate, level 1 or 2, shall be free.
The approach varies depending on whether the student is in school in France or abroad.
Student in France
The approach varies according to the student's educational conditions.
Student enrolled in a school
The school in which the pupil is attending takes care of registering him in the ASSR tests.
Student enrolled in Cned
If the student is enrolled in the Cned: titleContent, a written request must be addressed to the Academic Director of National Education Services (DASEN) of department of residence.

If the student is following a family education (home school), a written request must be addressed to the Academic Director of National Education Services (DASEN) of department of residence.

Student attending a private non-contract school
If the student is enrolled in a non-contract private institution, the warden registers it in an institution that organizes the ASSR events.
Student educated abroad
The approach varies according to the student's educational conditions.
Student enrolled in a French school
If the student is enrolled in a french establishment abroad belonging to the network of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), the establishment is in charge of registering it to the ASSR tests.
Student enrolled in a foreign institution
You must contact the french consular authorities to find out how registration for the ASSR events is done in a nearby French establishment.

Please note
If the student has a visual impairment preventing it from passing the ASSR tests, a fitted test is proposed. One certificate of education on the road (AER) shall be issued to him upon success. However, having the EAR does not entitle you to register to learn how to drive a vehicle and to obtain a driving license.

The test shall comprise 20 questions to multiple choice.
Before each question, the student views a footage.
The questions concern traffic, passengers, speed, citizen behavior, first aid, health and risky driving...
The student must have 10/20 or more to obtain the ASSR 1 or ASSR2.
He can know your score from 6 p.m. on the day of the examination by connecting to the national road safety certification platform.

If successful, the school where the student took the ASR test issues him the diploma of ASSR1 or ASSR2, as the case may be.
Reminder
ASSRs do not authorize the operation of a motor vehicle.
If the student fails (less than 10 /20), he/she must ask the school where he/she passed the ASSR to find out the the date of the catch-up session.
In the event of loss or theft of the ASSR 1 or ASSR2, a written request must be addressed to the school where the student took the exam. The application must attest to passing the ASSR1 or ASSR2 test, as applicable. Enter the student's full name, school and year of the test session, and attach a certificate of loss or theft of the ASSR.
The institution will issue a duplicate or a certificate of achievement.
The expense related to the cost of reproduction and shipping may be requested.

In case of loss or theft of your ASSR2, you can make a declaration of honor to make the application for a driving license.
